The Nook – Heritage Residential Refurbishment

The Nook is a Grade II listed 17th-century property located within the Petworth Conservation Area. The building has evolved over several centuries, with extensions and alterations dating from the 18th through to the 20th century.

Craig Construction Services was appointed to take over and deliver a programme of repair and improvement works, following earlier consent that had not been implemented in accordance with approved details. The project required careful review, coordination with conservation requirements, and the development of a compliant scheme to regularise and progress the works.

Working within the constraints of a listed structure, we delivered a comprehensive refurbishment that balanced modern living standards with the preservation of historic fabric. This included specialist conservation works to the existing timber frame, alongside upgrades to ensure the building performs to current expectations.

The result is a high-quality residential home that retains its original character while providing a practical, comfortable living environment. The project demonstrates our ability to manage complex heritage constraints and deliver refined residential outcomes to a high standard.
